Chickens, American Idol- Burkina Faso style, and a new twist in the race makes this episode of the race fantastic...

"Ron suffered a painful hernia. Teams traveled to Burkina Faso, where they had to milk a camel. Some teams coaxed camels into providing milk; others had more difficulty. Siblings Azaria/Hendekea quickly learned words during the DETOUR and came in first. Lorena/Jason caught up to Marianna/Julia, and they were neck and neck in the DETOUR. Lorena/Jason narrowly beat the sisters to the mat, and the sisters were eliminated. Eight teams remain. Who will be eliminated next? "

-Oh god, i wish i could be Phil, *wishful thinking*

ROUTE: BINGO, OUAGADOUGOU---> OUAGADOUGOU, BURKINA FASO

Azaria and Hendekea departed first, damn!!this team is the team to beat and they are so smart!, they already been into first place 2 times...

>>ROUTE INFO: Find the tribal chief to give you the next clue and a customary gift of generosity.

....then there goes the chickens, the teams must carry with them the chicken throughout the leg or they will not be check-in to the pitstop...

TK and Rachel departed next, whose strategy is to keep calm and enjoy the race...
they are followed by Nathan and Jennifer, the team that badly wants to be in first..
then Kynt and Vyxsin, the very good GOTH team...what is nice about them is that they are very nice and genuine people...despite their looks...
they are followed by my fave team, Ronald and Christina, their my favorite because, Ron is a classic!! He provides pure entertainment, and they prove to be good racers...
they are followed by Nicholas and Donald..the first grandson/grandfather team of the race...
man, grandpa is hilarious!!despite his age, he still knows how to flirt..oh well!

~these five teams check in to the last pitstop, just seconds apart...so they are really close to each other..

>>Route Info: Take a taxi to Bouda Peletanga.

Shana and Jennifer departs with a huge gap between the five teams...
then followed by Lorena and Jason, again with a huge gap between Shana and Jennifer...

>>DETOUR: Shake your pan, or Shake your booty! Pan: Choose a gold mining pan, use the local method, mine an ounce of gold. Could be physically demanding. Booty: Learn and perform a local dance, before a panel of local celebrities. Judges impressed, get CLUE. Not impressed, incur a 10 minute penalty. Teams without rhythm and showmanship could lose their footing.

Jenn and Nathan are the first to read the clue and choose Shake your Booty...and the result?
the judges are not impressed and they received a 10 min. penalty before they continue...
Nicholas and Donald are next and chose the mining detour...
TK and Rachel are next followed by Azaria and Hendekea, they both chose the dancing but TK and Rachel switch detours because they think they can't dance..

The locals cheered and the judges were impressed by the performance of Azaria and Hendekea,
getting their clue, Azaria and Hendekea discovered the first of the two U-Turns in the race..

CAUTION: U-TURN AHEAD!
>>ROUTE INFO: Go to Peletanga Market.

Azaria and Hendekea chose not to U-Turn...
while TK and Rachel are lost on the way to the mine...

ROUTE INFO: Travel to the Tampouy Goat Market.

It's Ron and Christina's turn to dance, but unfortunately received the 10 min. penalty...
Currently in 2nd place, Jenn and Nathan received their clue and chose not to U-TURN...
Moving up to 3rd place, Nicholas and Donald chose not to U-TURN...

Next to dance is the Goths, and i think they had the best performance of the group...
currently in 4th place, they chose not to U-TURN...

Ron and Christina's penalty is now finished and now received their clue
..currently in 5th place, they chose not to U-TURN...

TK and Rachel is now finished in mining,
currently in 6th they chose not to U-TURN and received their clue...

Shana and Jennifer chose the dancing
.. they perform a very bad dance, using their charms...
but the judges approve and received their next clue..

They received the next clue, and chose to U-TURN Lorena and Jason..
Shana says it's a part of the game while Jennifer thinks it's a bad strategy...

Lorena and Jason arrived, and did the dancing very well to received their next clue...
But arriving at the U-TURN spot, they dissapointedly go back and do the mining detour...

>>ROADBLOCK. Who's ready for a juggling act?
- Load a bicycle with an unwieldy amount of supplies, including an uncooperative goat. Ride the bike down the road to a vendor, deliver all supplies for the next clue.

Azaria and Jennifer opt to do the roadblock...

Goths arrived with Nicholas and Donald and Ron and Christina not far behind...

Vyxsin, Nicholas, and Christina chose to do the roadblock...

Jennifer delivered her goods but Azaria are the first to go back...

>>ROUTE INFO:Drive yourselves to the next pitstop:
- The Hotel Deville. Last team to check in, chicken in hand, may be eliminated.

It's a race between Azaria and Hendekea and Jennifer and Nathan....

Christina now begins to ride her bike...
while Vyxsin's bike falls down...

Lorena and Jason are finished in the mining, and now on the way to the market...

Locals are now helping Christina finding the vendor...
While Vyxsin is now riding her bike, passing through large amounts of garbage...

On the way to the pitstop... It's a foot race between Azaria and Hendekea, and Jennifer and Nathan..

But in the end...

Azaria and Hendekea checked in first, split-seconds before Jennifer and Nathan...
Jennifer whines about Azaria and Hendekea being 1st three times...
ugh, Jennifer annoys me...

At the Roadblock..

Jennifer and Rachel chose to do the roadblock...

While Christina finished the task..
followed by Vyxsin and Nicholas....

at the taxi, Vyxsin cry because she thinks the people are wonderful and very nice to them, despite their looks...

Ronald and Christina finished in 3rd...stating that they are now racing at their own level...
Nicholas and Donald are next, now moving up to the ladder...
Kynt and Vyxsin followed, finishing in 5th....

At the roadblock, Rachel and Jennifer finds difficulty in finding the vendor..

Rachel finish first but lost her way back, making Shana and Jennifer to take the clue first and check in at 6th...

Lorena and Jason arrived at the roadblock and TK and Rachel checked in at 7th....

In the end, Lorena and Jason didn't have the time to catch up, and were eliminated...
Jason says that they enjoyed the race, and there is so much more to learn....and he and Lorena considers marriage after the race....

Next episode....

waa!!katakot sina Shana and Jennifer!!
may bubunggo sa kanila na bus!....
the next episode will be in Lithuania..

Final Ranks:

1st: AZARIA AND HENDEKEA
2nd: JENNIFER AND NATHAN
3rd: RONALD AND CHRISTINA

4th: NICHOLAS AND DONALD
5th: KYNT AND VYXSIN
6th: SHANA AND JENNIFER
7th: TK AND RACHEL
8th: LORENA AND JASON *ELIMINATED*

~over-all, a very nice episode...
i laugh at christina when her father keeps on talking( lagi naman eh)...
and she said "Shh.. Dad, you're scaring them!"..haha..
and the task are entertaining, especially the dance,
even though it's quite unfair...
i hope jenn and nathan are next to go,
they're so annoying, especially jenn..
whining about azaria and hendekea being first again...
If you want to be first, do your best....
and don't blame them if they get first,
because it's not their fault if they are good...

last post for today! :D

a short(?)info about the Amazing Race, for those who don't know it...

The Amazing Race is a reality television game show in which teams race around the world in competition with other teams. Contestants strive to arrive first at the end of each leg of the race to avoid the possibility of elimination. Teams are progressively eliminated until three teams are left; at that point, the team which arrives first in the final leg is awarded a large cash grand prize. Created by Elise Doganieri and Bertram van Munster, the original series has aired in the United States since 2001 and has earned seven Primetime Emmy Awards, including all five "Outstanding Reality-Competition Program" awards that have been given.
Contestants travel to and within multiple countries in a variety of transportation modes, including planes, taxis, rental cars, trains and boats. The clues in each leg point the teams to the next destination or direct them to perform a task, either together or by a single member. Each task showcases the geographic region or indigenous culture and customs it is held in. If a team is in last place at the end of a leg of the race, they may be forced to stop competing or have a significant disadvantage in the following leg.

>to better know the race, you must know the elements of it:

Route Markers are the flags that mark the places where teams must go. Most Route Markers are attached to the boxes that contain clue envelopes, but some may mark the place where the teams must go in order to complete tasks.

Route Info clues instruct the teams where to go next. The clue usually only provides the name of the team's next destination; it is up to the teams to figure out how to get there. However, the clue may make specifications about how the teams have to travel. For example, the very first clue of the race specifies which flights teams may take. In addition, teams may be required to take public transportation, drive a marked car or other vehicle, or walk, according to the clue's instructions.

A Detour presents the team with a decision between two tasks, "each with its own pros and cons", as described by host Keoghan. Teams are given several details about both tasks, but may need to travel a short distance by foot or car to the different task locations. One task is typically less physically demanding but is tedious or requires some amount of time or thinking to complete, while the other is usually a more physically demanding or frightening option that, depending on the team's ability, may take less time to complete. The decision on which task to attempt lies solely with the team. A team may choose to switch tasks as many times as they wish with no penalty other than the time lost in attempting the tasks and traveling between task locations. Because of this freedom to choose between tasks, the penalty for not completing either task is significant

The U-Turn, introduced in Season 12, is similar in format to the Yield; however, it is always placed immediately after a Detour. The penalty differs from the Yield in that the affected team loses no specific amount of time, but must instead complete the Detour task which they did not just previously complete (hence, they must complete both). In implementation, it is quite similar to the Yield, having a large sign where the team choosing to apply the penalty places a large picture of the affected team, above a smaller picture of themselves; as well, no team may use the U-Turn more than once in the full Race. In its debut season, it was indicated there would be a total of two U-Turns through the entire race.

A Roadblock is a task that only one team member may perform. Before heading into a Roadblock, teams read a vague clue about the task to come, e.g., "Who's really hungry?" (for an ostrich-egg eating challenge), or "Who wants to get down and dirty?" (for a task involving making mud bricks). Often, a team may figure out the specific task by observing their surroundings, using common sense, or even seeing other teams already performing the Roadblock task. They then must decide which team member would be best suited to complete it. Once a choice has been made, the teammates cannot switch roles.

The Fast Forward allows the team that receives it to skip all remaining tasks on that leg of the race and proceed directly to the Pit Stop. To receive the Fast Forward, the team must be the first team to perform and complete the task described on the Fast Forward clue. The clue is found along with a regular clue at one of the Route Markers.

The Yield, which was introduced in Season 5, allows any one team to force another team to stop racing for a predetermined amount of time. From Season 6 onwards, when there was going to be a Yield, the teams would find the message "Caution, Yield Ahead" in their clue. To yield an opponent, a team places the picture of the team they wish to yield onto the Yield sign (found near one of the Route Markers). When the yielded team arrives at the Yield station, they must turn over an hourglass found on the Yield sign and wait for all the sand to drain before continuing. It is suggested that this generally takes around 30 minutes.

The Intersection, introduced in Season 10, requires each team to pair up with one other team and perform all tasks and make decisions together until further notice. Should there be no other teams present when a given team arrives at the Intersection route marker, they must wait there until another team arrives, though they do not have to partner with that team and can opt to wait for another team instead. Teams are free to choose their partner team if multiple teams are present.

Race legs

Pit Stops
Pit Stops are the final destination in each leg of the race. Each Pit Stop is a mandatory rest period which allows teams to eat, sleep, and mingle with each other.

'SUPER LEGS'

Season 6 introduced the first double-length "superleg" shown over two episodes. The televised episode ended with a 'To Be Continued' message instead of a Pit Stop. The second half of the leg featured a second Detour and second Roadblock

THE MAT

When teams arrive at the pit stop, all members must all step on the mat in front of Phil Keoghan ( host) and a local greeter that represents the country they are presently in .

Non-elimination legs

Each race has a number of predetermined non-elimination legs, in which the last team to arrive at the Pit Stop is not eliminated and is allowed to continue on the race. Racers are not told in advance which legs are non-elimination legs.

'Double-elimination' legs
Season 10 introduced the first surprise elimination, when the last team to arrive at a checkpoint midway through the first leg was eliminated on the spot. At the end of the leg, there was a normal elimination at the mat, making it the first time two teams were eliminated in the same leg.

Final leg

Three teams compete in the last leg of the race. This first part of the leg includes intermediate destination(s) where the teams must travel to complete a series of tasks .
The second part of the leg has teams traveling to a final destination, usually located in a major U.S. city. Remaining teams must complete one or more tasks before receiving the clue directing them to the Finish Line. At the finish line, host Phil Keoghan and all the eliminated teams wait for the remaining teams to arrive.
The first team to reach the finish line wins the race and the top cash prize, which varies depending on the version of the show. All other teams win lesser amounts of money on a sliding scale based on their finishing order.
